1. Information We Collect

When you use NutriAI, we collect the following information to provide our calorie tracking service:

• Account information (email address, name) provided during sign-in via Apple or Google
• Profile data you enter, such as your name, body measurements, goal weight, and nutrition goals
• Meal photos you submit for AI analysis (processed in real-time and not permanently stored on our servers)
• Nutrition estimates, meal descriptions, and saved meal history generated from your scans
• Subscription and payment status (managed securely through Apple's In-App Purchase or Stripe)
• A random device identifier used to enforce the free daily scan limit

2. AI Analysis & Your Consent

NutriAI uses Google Gemini, a third-party AI service, to estimate nutrition. The app asks for your explicit permission before sending anything to Gemini. With your permission, we send the meal photos you choose to analyze, the meal descriptions and corrections you type, and — for daily coach tips — your goal, daily targets, activity level, and recent meal totals. Your name, email address, and Apple Health data are never sent to the AI. You can withdraw permission at any time in the app under Settings > AI & Privacy; barcode scanning, food search, and manual logging keep working without it.

3. Apple Health

If you turn on Apple Health sync, NutriAI saves the meals and weigh-ins you log to Apple Health and reads your active energy to show calories burned. Data read from Apple Health stays on your device: it is not uploaded to our servers, not shared with third parties or AI providers, and never used for advertising or marketing. You can change these permissions at any time in the Health app.

• To analyze your meals and provide calorie and macro estimates using AI
• To track your daily nutrition intake and display progress toward your goals
• To manage your account and subscription
• To maintain and improve service reliability and app quality

5. Data Storage & Security

Account, subscription, server-side scan data, saved meal descriptions, nutrition estimates, and goals are stored using Convex, a cloud database platform with encryption in transit and at rest. Meal photos are processed by Google's Gemini AI for analysis and are not permanently stored on our servers after processing. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Gemini AI — for food recognition and nutrition analysis
• Convex — for account, subscription, and API data
• Apple Sign In / Google Sign In — for authentication
• Open Food Facts — for barcode and packaged-food nutrition lookups

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Ask questions about your data and how it is handled
• Opt out of any non-essential data collection

You can delete your account in the app from Settings > Delete Account. To exercise other privacy rights, contact us at support@nutriai.app.

8. Data Retention

We retain your server-side account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account in the app, server-side account data is deleted, local app data is removed from the device, and NutriAI's Sign in with Apple authorization is revoked. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; manage that in your Apple ID settings. Some limited records may remain briefly where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or backup integrity.

9. Children's Privacy

NutriAI is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of NutriAI after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
